The Fun Theory is dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behaviour for the better. Be it for yourself, for the environment, or for something entirely different, the only thing that matters is that it’s change for the better. Clearly these are not exactly cost effective and wouldn't work in any sort of grand scheme, but as pieces of ambient creatively; what a fun and interesting way of engaging the publics imagination and interest. With the use of various forms of ambient media combined with the simply the very world we live in, the people behind the fun theory and Volkswagen have proved that fun can alter behavior for the enjoyment of us all.
How much happier would we all be if ideas like these became fully realized and used far and wide? It would certainly put a smile on my face before i got to work, and certainly afterward.

The Black Hole
A nice little film by Phil & Olly. A simple yet entertaining look at a sleep deprived office worker who stumbles upon a mysterious black hole..printed accidentally from a photo copier. This isn't Shakespeare or Spielberg by any means, and the CGI is simple After Effects at best, but if you've got a min, give it a look. And don't pretend you'd never think of such a stupid thing when your bored or tired, because you would.

The Art of Drew Struzan
The Art of Drew Struzan chronicles the work of the worlds most iconic movie poster artist Drew Struzan. Packed with the history and notes behind some of his most iconic posters (including Star Wars, The Thing, his Indiana Jones posters, etc), the book also gives insight into posters that he was hired to create and then went unused by some ridiculous marketing executive i.e. the Waterworld one–sheet above.
It looks to be a fascinating book, filled with all his different versions of some very iconic posters and early compositions of now iconic images like the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade one-sheet. The book apparently also features tonnes of other concepts that are pretty amazing, like the Back to the Future one–sheet above.
Thanks to things like Photoshop and design software, movie posters like this are now sadly a thing of the past, which to me seems a crying shame because, these are truly works of art.
The Art of Drew Struzan hits shelves September 14th.
Olly Moss’ Movie Posters
First post on my new blog. Im going to kick off with a subject very close to my heart, and thats Film and Graphic Design. I spotted these fantastic Olly Moss’ movie posters a few weeks ago and saved them for this very post. The posters are to mark the 2010 Alamo Drafthouse & Levi’s Rolling Roadshow Tour. A traveling venue screening classic and famous films in famous places, taking place all over America this year.
Very similar to the work of say Spacesick, the simplistic yet iconic design, immediately delivers a punch that informs you straight away which film it represents regardless of title. A film geek like myself also got very excited about the concept of where these films are being screened; using actual locations shot for the films as the place to relive them. Awesome idea.
The posters Olly designed are for Robocop, There Will be Blood, Blues Brothers, Rocky, Convoy, Dirty Harry, Jackie Brown, On The Waterfront, and Godfather.
